Welcome New Subscribers!

We've seen a flood of new followers the last couple of weeks.

WELCOME!

I'm Dr. Rachel Rubin. A urologist with fellowship training in sexual medicine. One year ago I followed my dreams and opened up my own practice where we provide comprehensive sexual medicine care to all who need it.

I am thankful to Dr. Lucy McBride for allowing me to take over her very popular newsletter this week where we talked about fun sexual medicine facts that you can use at your next cocktail party. 😂

I also did a fun youtube live with ChefAJ where we discussed incontinence, interstitial cystitis, UTIs, sexual health and more. We had hundreds of people tune in live and ask questions.

Academic Updates

I promise I'm not just focused on social media.

This week I was invited to give grand round lectures at the Georgetown OBGYN department and the Washington Hospital Center Urogynecology Department.

We can’t possibly see all the patients who need our help, so educating fellow medical providers is essential for creating an army of sexual medicine experts. We want our message to spread far and wide.

We also had a paper published this week about how to prescribe testosterone therapy in menopausal women with bothersome low libido.

People tend to think of Testosterone as a hormone only found in men, but it plays a very important role in women. In fact, women produce more testosterone than estrogen and when these levels start to decline, libido can really take a hit.

If you are a clinician and want to learn more about practicing sexual medicine, check out the ISSWSH fall course, which is only a month away and almost sold out!

This week we spoke with the amazing Soumyadip Rakshit creator and engineer of MysteryVibe, an innovative device company. He was gracious enough to join us virtually from London, England.

MysteryVibe has a great device for penises called the tenuto. They also make a fabulous device for women with pelvic floor dysfunction called the crescendo.

In the video Andrea Martin and Soumyadip discuss how the design of MysteryVibe devices combines scientific expertise and real patient feedback.

What Patients are Saying

Post Orgrasmic Illness Syndrome

We see a lot of patients with rare conditions. Check out this recent testimonial of a male physician patient who had an incredible outcome and resolution of his debilitating symptoms.

Did you know viagra and cialis can help women, too?

These medications are very inexpensive for everyone...Like $7 for 30 pills online at Cost Plus Drugs pharmacy.
