Alumnae President Update

Another year has seen our Alpha Gam Sisterhood continue to grow and blossom as we move forward into the 2024-2025 year. Our Alumnae board has had some new members join and we continue to appreciate those who have served before. During the last year, we have celebrated another wonderful Homecoming season and International Reunion Day! Congratulations to the class of 1974 on their 50-year Initiation anniversary! More regional gatherings to celebrate pledge classes and bring Alumnae members together are being planned including brunches taking place this summer. We’re so excited to see more engagement from you women and look forward to making more memories this year!

What a wonderful year it has been. As a fairly new member, I have been experiencing everything for the first time. I have met so many amazing women and I have had the joy of seeing a lot of growth in a short amount of time. Efforts are being made to connect sisters here in Moscow and in other cities around the state. I am so excited to take part, to see the old traditions that are near and dear to our hearts, and to make new traditions that will keep us together. International Reunion Day was filled with fun and laughter, I look forward to creating new memories in the years to come.

Another year has flown by for the women of Delta Theta. As always, there were highs and lows

and everything in between yet the collegians handled it all with the strength and grace of true

Alpha Gams.

We started the year by putting our best foot forward during formal recruitment and were able to

make quota. The women then jumped right into the continuous open bidding process and we

continued to add new members to the pledge class of 2023. All of this hard work led us to be

able to initiate 21 amazing young women during our fall initiation ceremony. Their recruitment

efforts did not stop after fall initiation and we were able to initiate 2 more amazing women this

spring.

Our philanthropic events throughout the school year were successful and Delta Theta was able to

donate over $2,000 to the foundation. This allows us to maintain our Jewel Chapter status for

another year.

The women also had the opportunity to have some fun throughout the year by co-hosting socials

and sisterhood events with other chapters from the Greek community.

I would be remiss if I failed to mention all of my fellow advisors that have been there for the

collegiate women throughout the year. For the first time in my tenure as an advisor, we have a

full advisor board plus some and I couldn’t be prouder to be a part of this phenomenal group of

women. They are an inspiration to all who have the pleasure of getting to interact with them.

Delta Theta continues to flourish and I look forward to what the future holds. I cannot wait to see

what this next year has in store for all of us; alumnae and collegians alike.

 Dear Delta Theta Sisters,

What a year it has been!  We began 2023-2024 with a very successful recruitment when we welcomed our New Members!  We’d like to thank all of you who responded to our request for assistance for meals, snacks, and gifts for our collegiate members during Spirit Week and the week of Formal Recruitment.  The women were so appreciative of the warm thoughts and meals you provided!  Please watch the Facebook group as we are going to ask again this year!

Our members have been working hard this past school year.  Many women are earning a 3.5 or higher, as well as being named to their respective college Dean's Lists.  Overall house GPA has been above 3.0 very consistently. Study table attendance has been rising and efforts are being rewarded.  Member retention has improved, and we are already looking forward to a great Formal Recruitment this coming August!  We are very proud of these women!

We did have a hiccup when the weather got so cold this past winter.  There was a pipe in the baseboards in the kitchen that froze, flooding the 3 corner rooms under the kitchen.  The women were relocated to the Best Western University Inn for a week, and were able to move back in while those rooms were being repaired.  We are thankful the damage was relatively minor and nothing was seriously damaged.

To support these women, please support the Alumnae Chapter by paying annual dues, helping out with IRD planning, and other projects as we regain capacity and interest from all of you!  There are ideas in the works for mentoring our upperclassmen on both a professional and a personal level, and we’d love to look at committees to support leadership initiatives, fundraising, etc.  We welcome your ideas!

We’d like to take the opportunity to thank our Advisor team.  There is so much support and love for our collegiate chapter represented by these women.  Their life experiences, career pathways, and love of Alpha Gamma Delta are such stellar examples of Living our Purpose for our rising leaders.

We wish all of you the best!

Hello from Moscow!! 2024 has been such an eventful yet delightful year! Right off the bat, coming back from Christmas break, the women of the Delta Theta chapter got to move into the Best Western for a week, because our house flooded due to sub-zero temperatures causing our pipes to burst. Though the women thoroughly enjoyed the hotel pool, we were happy to be back into the house, better than ever. Events like that can seem difficult at the moment, however, the bonds of the sisterhood were only strengthened. We had several fantastic COB events that drew in potential new members. Then a perfectly practiced serenade, because what brings college girls together better than Shania Twain's, Man I Feel Like a Woman?? And right into our Valentine's Day sisterhoods that allowed us to shower each other with things we love about our members. Our Senior week in April was filled with laughs and tears, as we got ready to let go of some of the longest-standing members and watch them spread their wings to start the next chapter of their lives. The following week was the beloved Mr. Idaho philanthropy and with the theme of Alpha Gamma Disco, we were able to raise over $2,000 which puts us in the Jewel Society once again. Our next big event was Initiation, where we were able to initiate two new members! They make such a wonderful addition to our chapter. As the school year comes to a close, I am truly grateful for the blessing of being able to lead these amazing women. They are so unique and diverse in themselves and continue to reach new heights in what it means to embody an Alpha Gam. They are strong and resilient, even when they are faced with difficulties, they find new ways to flourish. The women that make up Alpha Gam leave me feeling hopeful and confident in the many years to come.
