Taste a Rainbow; Free Kids Summer Program There's still time for kids to join MSU Extension Instructor, Kendra Gibson on a fun summertime journey to learn about gardening and eating healthy! Children will help grow a garden, taste fresh foods, hear stories, make crafts, play games and learn about being healthy. Classes are Tuesdays through - August 14th (no class on July 3). | | |

Grow A Row Takes Root The community is embracing the 1st Annual Grow A Row campaign which encourages home gardeners to set aside a row of their vegetables and donate the surplus to Lakeshore Food Club to support individuals and families in Mason County experiencing food insecurity. Interested in participating? Stop by and grab a yard sign to place in your garden to show your support! | | |

Ludrock Proceeds Benefit Non-Profit Organizations Located at Waterfront Park, Ludrock is Ludington's biggest music concert of the summer, featuring live music from over 40 local bands! The event invites non-profits (including the Lakeshore Food Club) to setup booths to help spread the word about what they do. Visit us there on July 7-8 for live music, kids activities, food, beverage vendors and more. Proceeds benefit local charities. | | |

What is the importance of non-food donations? Low-income families struggle to afford basic household necessities that are needed to maintain personal hygiene, household care and sense of self. Donated non-food essentials help families stretch their limited resources using those saved dollars to pay for other necessities like rent, utilities, or gas for a car. Missionaries Give to Mason County Our community was visited by the Grace 360 Youth Group from Hamilton, MI who donated their time helping several area organizations including the Food Club. They installed raised gardens in our yard, built picnic tables, cleaned, sorted, organized and more... THANK YOU! |

Food Club Featured at Active for Life Expo Thank you, Ferd Schulte, for volunteering your afternoon at the Active for Life Expo where the Food Club was able to share information with the senior citizens who attended! The expo provided booths, speakers and demonstrations pertaining to health for body, mind and spirit. |

Taste of the Lakeshore Huge thanks to the Ludington Daily News for inviting the Food Club to be featured at the first annual Taste of the Lakeshore event on June 14th at the Graystone Event Center along with over 30 of the areas finest restaurants, wineries & breweries. The attendance exceeded expectations with over 550 visitors with a portion of the proceeds supporting the Food Club! Food Club volunteer, Andy Guinan was kind enough to give her time to help us out! | | |
