In gratitude for our members and friends,
It’s so hard to believe that it’s June already. Where did May go? On behalf of the board members, I would like to thank all of you who attended and/or brought a guest to our May 16 Open House. We had a wonderful turnout once again with about 55 in attendance, 20 of whom were guests. Lots of networking and energy in two hours at my house. A beautiful handmade quilt (pictured above) was presented by new member, Beverly Quinn, for our Live Auction at the luncheon on September 15. Thank you, Beverly, for the generous donation.
Speaking of the Annual Luncheon, we’ve had two Auction Committee Meetings thus far. A kick-off meeting on May 22, and our second one, June 5. Luncheon Chair Karen McCoy, who is spotlighted below, has presented some creative and efficient new ideas as well as ways to keep us all organized and on our timeline. We are blessed to have many faithful auction team members that are returning to solicit auction items and several new member solicitors. We are off and running and making progress daily. Thanks to Kim Hoover’s assistance, I have mailed out all of the auction donor letters to include the item(s) the individual or business donated last year. In addition, the Sponsorship/Scholarship Donation Letters are being mailed out on June 11 to all of our members and non-members who have donated in the past. If you know someone that supports Catholic Education and would like me to invite their support of our event, please email me at da.lassiter@yahoo.com and I’d be happy to mail them a letter. One final note about the auction, our first vice president Teri Gordon has secured two pair of exquisite earrings worn by the stars of the TV show Nashville Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere.
I am planning our next board meeting for mid-July. If you have any issues you would like considered or addressed, please email me your thoughts and ideas of how we can serve you better.
Meanwhile, we hope to see many of you at our next regular meeting, Wednesday, June 20 at the Vanderbilt University Club. You can register and pay here on our website. Also, if you haven’t already renewed your membership dues for $45, please do so this month. You can either mail a check, bring it to the meeting, or pay online by clicking the button at the bottom of this page that reads "pay membership fee here."
Once again, I am humbled and grateful for your support of our mission. It’s a blessing for me to serve with women who are so talented, committed and fun to spend time with too.
Gratefully,
Debbie
