Something for the fans of McLeod's Daughters!

The enormously successful Nine.com.au television series McLeod's Daughters was filmed on location in South Australia, in and around the small town of Freeling.  The long running series was based on two sisters inheriting their father's property, and the playing out of their lives as women on the land.  McLeod's Daughters was a hit not only in its homeland of Australia, but also New Zealand, Europe, UK and North America.  One of the planned cultural activities for our conference is to take the group on tour around the filming sites north east of Adelaide in the Barossa Valley.  The featured photograph was taken beside the North Parra River on approach to the Stock Route Road.

Introducing one of our lead speakers:

Dr Jennie Pryce, BSc Hons, PhD (Genetics) University of Edinburgh, is Principal Research Scientist of Agriculture Victoria and La Trobe University, located at AgriBio, where she leads a large team of scientists and supervises PhD students.  Her main areas of interest are genetic improvement of functional traits in dairy cattle, optimising breeding scheme design under genomic selection, and development of dairy selection indices.
