AT’s Care is in search of volunteers who are interested in serving as a state representative for ATs Care.   The mission of the ATs Care Committee is to aid athletic trainers and AT students in the aftermath of a critical incident by utilizing a peer-to-peer system to assist, monitor and encourage these individuals to seek initial support through state or regional athletic training care teams.

A planning group was convened in January 2016 to begin establishing the framework for ATs Care from there, district representatives were identified and the next step is to identify a representative from each state to serve on the ATs Care Committee.  Once state representatives are in place, each state will formulate a CISM team to assist with local incidents. This is a unique appointment, in that members must:

  • Agree to the term of service (2 years minimum)
  • Be a practicing AT for at least five years
  • Be willing to undergo ICISF Peer Support Provider Training and ICISF Group Support Provider Training

  • Serve as a liaison between state CISM team members and D3 ATs Care Representative
  • Assist with the development of state policies and procedures
  • Be in good standing with the BOC
  • Be a member of NATA in good standing

** Please note there may be some cost to committee volunteers in terms of training**
