Welcome To Your Island...

Aloha to all our existing newsletter subscribers and to all our new ones that have joined our Island! It's been a busy couple of months with the opening of our group exhibition 'Our River Runs Deep' in which we had record numbers attend confirming to us that people are loving what we are doing at Island Collective.

We have also been honoured to be featured in a couple of Blogs. One by The Beach People who are a leading Australian Lifestyle brand that we love and have stocked since we begin. Check it out thebeachpeople.com.au/blog. And The Design Villa who is a respected Stylist and Photographer. Have a read at thedesignvilla.com.au

Our long summer days at the beach are drawing in and as the salt starts to evaporate from our skin our interior abodes become even more important. For us at the Island winter invites us to introduce warm textures and patterns while also making sure we bring the outside in through lush greenery inside. These days there's no excuse not to have beautiful pot plants inside, with so much choice in plants as well as pots, in ceramic or canvas. They really can make a statement and ensure those lost outside hours to winter can be regained inside.

Have a fabulous May!

THANK YOU for joining us on our Journey.... Island Collective XXX

What's On...
With winter we all start to hibernate but we have a couple of workshops that will get you out of your Ugg boots and into the Island on a winters evening. (Note: Ugg boots are welcome at Island Collective.. lol)

The first workshop is one we are honoured to have been asked to host. It's called '1 Million Stars to End Violence' which is an international weaving project by Artist. Maryann Talia Pau. The aim is to end violence by bringing people together to weave 1 million stars by 2018. The first workshop on Thursday 28th May booked out within 1 day of advertising so we now have a waiting list which is also filling up. It looks like we will have another evening because of this amazing response.

The cost is $10 and it will be an evening of Weaving, Wine and conversation. Contact us if you wish to be apart of this workshop. Check out onemillionstars.net and be inspired how communities really can join together.

Our second workshop we are excited about is an extension of our previous Macrame workshops with our right hand Sista and Macrame diva Emilia. For this one Emilia will be teaching a combo of macrame and weaving into a beautiful wall hanging.

As some of you may know weaving has had a massive renaissance in the past year and we love bringing the latest trends from around the world to you in our own little corner of the world. The workshop will be in June ( date to be confirmed). Please contact us if you wish to book in as places for this workshop won't last long. If you haven't already check out Emilia's homewares website. emilialorena.com.au

New In Store...

We are excited to introduce two new brands to our Island that we know you will love!

Kawaiian Lion is a brand based in the Northern Beaches of Sydney. The Kawaiian label infuses a love for texture, light, the sea, surf, vintage, the lion muse and the Island of Kauai through their homewares and lifestyle products. We have loved these guys for a while and now we get to share them with you! They land in store mid May.

Kollab is a label we recently discovered at a trade fair in Sydney.

They collaborate with Australian artists to produce on trend, everyday accessories such as insulated Picnic bags, lunch bags, beach bags and totes. Like us they are passionate about design and why not have beautiful well designed everyday products in your life. Available online and in store now.
