DECEMBER SHOUTOUT

LET'S TALK ABOUT STICKING TO ROUTINES

Don't Let the Holidays Turn Into a Holi-daze

It’s impossible to believe that this is the end of 2022 and we’re cruising into 2023 in less than 2 weeks!

Sending out loads of gratitude for all of the support, feedback, and love that you all share with me throughout the months – I appreciate it all very much!

Like you, I’m looking forward to having a bit of time off to charge my batteries in the form of downtime with family, time off of technology, and doing activities (yoga, hiking, journaling, reading, coloring) that fill me up and help me recenter/refocus my energy. I hope you get time for this as well. My article this month is about sticking with routines, something I find very difficult to do when anything gets in the way of staying on track. And the tool I am sharing with you at the end of my newsletter, The Year Compass, is just awesome! Please take some time to download it, print it, and sit with it. There is nothing more powerful than reflection at this time of year.

I’m looking forward to being with you again in the new year. Until then, stay well and happy holidays from my family to yours!

Time to Reflect

My #1 Takeaway from 2022

This year it became clear to me:  With all the ways in which my energy and attention is being pulled in my life, the #1 thing I can do to stay focused, present and engaged in these areas in my life, is to make sure I fill my own tank - Here are three ways I'm staying committed to making sure my tank stays full this year:

  • I'm taking Wednesdays off for WELLNESS WEDNESDAYS. This means NO CLIENT WORK on Wednesdays. Instead, this day is for ALL the things I wish I had time to do during the week (like puttering around and watering my plants) which brings me ridiculous amounts of joy. Who’s in?  Let’s start a WELLNESS WEDNESDAY CAMPAIGN TOGETHER!

  • I'm turning my phone off for long periods of time. In our house, we call it, “Going dark.” We have a drawer where electronics go during this time (and during charging at night). Nothing pulls my attention away from my kids, family, and priorities more than getting caught up on something on my phone, so this year I’m going dark more often than not.

  • I'm making sure my routine of MJR (meditate, journal, read) is anchored into my early mornings. This is a 30-minute time for just me – when the house is quiet in the early morning (my favorite time of day) and I meditate for 5 minutes, journal for 10, and read for 15. A simple 30 minutes that sets me up for success and brings my nervous system into focus for the day ahead.
