Scriptstuff Poetry invites you to really share the poetry love this summer, with a host of fabulous events featuring amazing guests, unique performance opportunities, cash prizes up for grabs, and a new project to put rock and roll poetry in your pocket! 

Our regular monthly Scriptstuff Poetry Night is still the third Wednesday of every month at Temperance Bar & Cafe in the heart of Leamington Spa's flourishing Cultural Quarter.  It's fun, informal, super-friendly, and features a pot pourri of local and visiting poetic talent. There's open mic slots available for everyone, from slightly nervous newcomers to some of the friendliest familiar faces we could ever hope to meet.

Our next Headline Guest (on Wednesday May 18th) is the stunningly powerful Jemima Hughes: 

"Sit back and don't relax. Jemima Hughes is a multi slam winning performance poet from Birmingham, who will drag you through the “mindfield” of the unorthodox. Her work emphasises mental health awareness and covers taboo subjects such as sexual violence, mental illness and suicide. Always a gripping performance, she will leave you questioning whether she meant to do that, or whether she needs to go and have a lie down. Not for the faint hearted, but definitely from the heart."

You don't need to book tickets or reserve an open mic slot for our Scriptstuff Poetry Nights, it's just £3 cash or card on the door (£2 concessions).  You can join in the Big Poetry Quiz, step up to the open mic, or just sit back and let the words, wit and wisdom wash over you!

What's that? June 2022?  Oh yes, it must be time to SLAM!

Both the Temperance Winter and Spring student slams were sold-out events, and we expect the Summer Slam to be no exception!

Students from anywhere can enter, the atmosphere is electric and the winner walks off with a cool £100 cash!

Everyone is welcome to join the audience, not just students, you'll have a fantastic evening and you could even volunteer to be an audience judge! Grab a ticket quick before they're all gone.

This year, Scriptstuff Poetry is once again hosting the Spoken Word Woodland Stage at Camper Calling, which will see three days of poetry shows, workshops, featured poets, and stand-up comedy.

We are inviting applications from poets who can fill a 1-hour, daytime slot with either a full show or a combination of workshop/s and/or performance.

All performers will be paid for their work and will be entitled to full weekend festival and camping tickets for themselves and somebody else!  In the first instance, please email festivals@scriptstuff.co.uk with a brief outline of what you have in mind.  There are no guidelines, but please remember Camper Calling is a family festival.  It's at Ragley Hall near Stratford-upon-Avon from August 26th-28th.

Heads-up!  Coming to the rather fabulous Welcombe Radio this summer is Scriptstuff Poetry's very own Rock and Roll Poetry Show!

Join us on a riotous and uncensored poetic discovery of social protest and artistic rebellion, all mixed up with some of the greatest and most bohemian music-makers and lyricists of our time.

Remember, poetry is not all daffodils and the anguish of war!
