"We here at Grant High School are extremely grateful to JTFS. Because of their organization we have received a generous grant to help fund our tennis program as we get off the ground. In my nine years as a teacher at Grant, we have not had a tennis team. Just as I was starting to build our program the pandemic struck, and the process came to a halt. However, as we emerged from lockdown, our tennis program began to rekindle. I was able to quickly recruit over fifteen students for our girls' tennis team; two weeks later we were playing in our first match with used, donated, and damaged tennis racquets. We could not be more fortunate to have received the grant from JTFS to purchase new tennis racquets, scorekeepers, and hoppers. Our young people in the community have had very little exposure to tennis, but through our program, and with the help of JTFS, we hope to introduce our students to tennis, which is truly a lifetime sport. Our school motto is Pacer for life, and as our program grows, I hope to instill another motto, Tennis for life."
