Data Proof for No Phone Policy: A No Phone Policy is meant to increase student attention, engagement, and academic performance. Considerable research shows that having a cell phone in class negatively affects student performance. Here are some key findings: Schools that restrict cell phone use see an improvement in test scores, especially among lower-achieving students. Dividing attention between a teacher and a device reduces long-term retention and impairs exam performance. Students who use phones during class recall less information, take less detailed notes, and perform worse academically. Simply having a phone present, even if turned off or face-down, reduces cognitive capacity.
