April 2024

Join us for June 1st

Join us on Saturday, June 1st for a free, 1-hour training at a location near you!

This day is particularly exciting because in addition to providing a FREE hour long training session in CPR and AED use, our organization is gifting an AED to host organizations in need that align with our mission statement. Each class is open to ages 13 & up, and every participant is eligible to receive 35% off an AED!

Sponsorship Opportunities

Unfortunately grants do not cover the cost of all of our donated AEDs, thus we are looking for businesses who would like to sponsor learner sites. Pigg River will host 5 classes on June 1, and 5 learner communities will be able to earn an AED for their organization. We would love to recognize YOU or YOUR BUSINESS as a site sponsor. Other site options also available. Please inquire at compressandshock@gmail.com

GIVE Roanoke

GIVE Roanoke is on April 24, 2024 from midnight to 11:59 PM.

We are asking that you consider making a donation to support our Foundation's efforts. We anticipate donating more than 50 AEDs on June 1 as we work our way towards our goal of 150 AEDs donated to underserved communities in 2024. Unfortunately grant funding does not support all of the AEDs that we donate and we rely on private donations to fund the rest. Any donation is greatly appreciated and if you or your company wishes to sponsor a site or a single AED, please see our Business Sponsorship opportunity section.

Thank you for thinking of us and supporting our mission.

Averett University

Karen Oaks is our newest cardiac arrest survivor spokesperson, and has joined our foundation as an instructor. She led a Compress and Shock educational training hosted by Averett University, in Danville, VA. This class had over forty learners, and an AED sponsored by Centra was donated to the House of Hope, an emergency shelter in Danville. She will also lead a training on June 1 at the Salvation Army in Danville.
