This might be the most excited I've been since sliced bread (or since Magnum released Double Chocolate Magnum...aka Sara's Magnum...the ice cream obvs).

 

 

Some of you that know me on a personal level knows that I suffered an incredibly hard burnout a few years ago which caused me to rethink my whole existens! It took me over two years to get to the point where I could see the light on the other side of the tunnel. I crashed and burned baby. Hard! My poor brain will probably never be what it was before but after years of professional help my memory is back, I can now have normal long days, regular noise levels again and I do not need any medication and no more panic attacks, depressions or anxiety.

 

To get out of it I had to take a time off from my normal life and revamp my whole life and change everything about it and in it. I changed my country (moved to France), my language (learned four levels of French in five months), my partner, my diet, my sleeping pattern, my friends, my training and my skin products. Everything changed! I pressed Ctrl+Alt+Delete and started from zero.

 

I taught myself and experimented on my own with my nutritional intake and realised what I put inside (and outside) my body really effected my brain in the most incredible (and scary) ways. By changing what I ate I could feel how my mental health changed significally! This also changed how my body moved, I had so many aches and pains that wasn't normal for a 30-something to have. But by giving my body the right ingredients it worked so much better.

I mean, I guess you wouldn't put Diesel in a Petrol car, would you?

 

 

If you read this far you probably wondering "why is she telling us this?"...  

 

This is why. I met four incredible women in France who I instantly felt that I wanted to work and build something together with and create something that I would have needed when I was at my worse... or before really not to get to that state.

So now it's my time to give back to someone else that needs to get back on their feet.

 

This upcoming retreat is made for anyone that want to understand the link between your gut, your body and your brain. How does the food that you eat effect your mental health.

We focus on a varied diet on this retreat and what the ingredients you put inside you makes you feel, in your mind and your body.

This is not a weight loss or a training boot camp nor a yoga retreat.

This is a retreat that focus on You as an individual and what You need for Your life to be a healthier one where your mental health becomes your priority.

 

This retreat could be for you who feel like you are close to a burnout or are there already, you don't feel that your body or mind is what it could be, you maybe suffer from tiredness, depression or anxiety that could be linked to a burnout or something else in your life, or maybe you problems are related to hormons, maybe you are entering menopause. Even though we don't focus on pregnancy it could be that you want to prepare your body for another round of IVF. Or something else! A skin condition or allergy that you think your diet could help stabilise or get it under control.

Maybe it feels like the train has derailed a bit and you are loosing control. Spiraling downwards. This is a great way to take back the control and get back on track.

Julia Gilroy, Alexander Technique and Movement Learning Methods Teacher

 

They could actually be divided into the WHAT (you eat), WHY (you eat it/feel it) & HOW (it effect you)! And this is the exact theme for this week.
