Standing forest, thriving community, clean water and good food! |

We appreciate all the loving and positive wishes sent to us last time we spoke. It is great to be a part of this fantastic network of people seeding regeneration! You have spoken, and we have listened: from now on, we will be sending out our newsletter monthly, always intending to spread joy and share opportunities and inspiring stories. |

Mutuca community needs to buy their territory and continue to protect the forest, their livelihood and culture. |
For over 15 years, the riverine people of Mutuca have been living in harmony with the Earth. Disseminating traditional knowledge and empowering other communities, Mutuca is an undisputable figurehead in agroforestry and apiculture in the amazonian region of Maués. The land they live in is bound to be sold to buffalo breeders, renowned for burning forests to create pasture and grow monoculture. =(
They have the chance to buy their land first, but they need our support! |
The Mutuca Crowdfunding platform was developed in partnership with Welight Institut, Idesam and the Mutuca community leaders. Together we have created a fast and reliable solution to send resources to those who typically struggle to access international funds. Donations, both from individuals and organisations, can reach the front line defenders with just a few clicks, leveraging currency and bridging a path of reparation from North to South. |
In the image above, two of the community members that our donations will be supporting: Mrs Rosário, community leader and president of the association that will hopefully own the land and her son Eydsonn, one of the twenty-four children and youth that live there. |

"We want to see Mutuca thrive while engaging our network of friends and partners into creating replicable solutions to fund the ones that seed food, protect nature and harvest harmony"

Bertha Challenge Fellowship 2022 |
Share the opportunity for a paid fellowship with your network of activists and investigative journalists all around the world. |
We are delighted to announce that our partner foundation Bertha has opened applications for the Bertha Challenge Fellowship 2022, focusing on the equitable access to land and protection of our shared water resources. The Bertha Challenge is a year-long paid fellowship for activists and investigative journalists to investigate, amplify and connect around a pressing social justice issue. The Challenge will begin in January 2022 with a focus on water, specifically supporting fellows to answer the following question: How is the relationship between politics and profit contributing to the degradation and loss of our freshwater and oceans, and what can be done to ensure equitable access and protection of these finite resources for people and planet? Successful applicants will receive non-residential paid fellowships and project funding to develop products that respond to the Bertha Challenge question. Applications close on July 3, 2021. |

Needless to say: local, regenerative, clean, fairly-produced, never wasted, cleverly marketed, accessible, delicious, colourful, nutritious, yummy food. |
