'Overlooked' Photography and Sculpture

Showing until the 25th October

The photographs and sculptures in this exhibition provoke the viewer’s sense of engagement with the familiar and overlooked details and objects of our daily lives.

Photographer Harry Napier-Rowney and sculptors Llewellyn McGarry and Martin Rowney (Harry’s dad) all embody the notion of observing and celebrating the overlooked and forgotten details of life. This is a celebration of the seemingly insignificant that should not be overlooked!

Gallery opening hours are 10-3pm, Wed-Sat

Extra hours for the QPRC Arts Trail on 19-20 October

Michael Simic (Mikelangelo) has teamed up with the Queanbeyan Hive and curated a night of music that will be a delightfully dark adventure for young and old, and everyone in between.

Featuring music from Canberra surf rock band The King Hits, local indigenous rock’n’roll crooner Jerikye Williams, Hive co-owner Simon Ferguson, and Melbourne art-rock singer songwriter Pete Lyrebird, who is on an East coast tour in support of his Pair Of Rogues EP. The night will also include guest performances from talented young artists from the Queanbeyan youth drop in centre Thursday afternoon jam group.

This will be an outdoor concert, in the ‘backyard’ area of The Hive. There will be face painting, food vans, a licensed bar and a spooky transformation of the space into a Halloween wonderland.

Time: 6pm-9pm

Date: Thursday 31st October - Halloween

Tickets: full-price tickets are $15 + GST or $20 at the gate.

Under-18s will just be a gold coin donation for entry.
