Reminder - Join us for a High Tea Affair in Celebration of Charles James - $75

We would like to kindly remind you to sign up and mark your calendars for high tea next week on Saturday, July 22nd, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM.

We will be hosting a delightful high tea affair to commemorate the birth anniversary of the iconic fashion designer, Charles James. This gathering serves as a prelude to our upcoming Fashion & Culture Exhibition.

The event will take place at the charming outdoors of Andersen's Danish Bakery & Restaurant, located at 1106 State Street, Santa Barbara, CA.

By attending this gathering, not only will you have the opportunity to indulge in exquisite hand-made treats, but you will also be supporting a local Santa Barbara mother and daughter business. It's a perfect occasion to gather and celebrate the timeless influence of Charles James.

We are delighted to announce that one of our guests in attendance had the privilege of encountering Charles James during his lifetime.

The ticket price for this exclusive experience is $75, which includes tax, tip, and fees. By purchasing a ticket, you will enjoy an all-inclusive high tea experience in Santa Barbara, surrounded by fellow fashion and culture enthusiasts. We are delighted to inform you that 100% of the proceeds will go directly to supporting Andersen's Bakery.

Rest assured; we are keeping a close eye on the weather forecast. The event will be held outdoors under umbrellas, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere for all attendees.

Don't miss out on this elegant and engaging discussion about Charles James and his muse, led by the Founder of the Couture Pattern Museum. Remember, you are welcome to dress up for the occasion or come as you are - the choice is entirely yours!

We look forward to seeing you at this special event.

Important Update: Adjusted Pricing and Appreciation for Your Support

We wanted to provide you with an important update regarding the pricing of our membership programs, as well as express our heartfelt appreciation for your continued support.

At present, while we actively seek grants and foundation sponsorships, our primary means of support stems from grassroots efforts like yours. Your involvement and contribution truly make a significant difference in furthering our cause and funding exhibitions and overhead costs. We are incredibly grateful for your dedication.

After careful consideration and budget evaluation, we have adjusted the pricing of our membership programs. The Founding Member program will now be priced at $35 per month, while the Blog Reader program will be priced at $15 per month. Additionally, we introduced a new program called Upholders of Couture, available at $5 per month. This program offers community support, allowing access to the online database for research and inspiration, as well as active participation in the Couture Forum.

As a Founding Member, you will not only have access to the scholarly database, but you will also be part of the exclusive Founders Circle group, which grants you maximum benefits within our organization. We believe this group fosters an enriching community experience and provide valuable opportunities for further engagement and learning.

We want to emphasize that everyone who has already signed up is grandfathered in at their original price. This gesture serves as a token of our deep appreciation for your early involvement in our mission. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to both our Blog Readers and Founding Members for their contributions towards this ambitious endeavor at the Couture Pattern Museum.

By supporting us, you are helping to preserve and promote the rich history of the democratization of couture, and support the artistry of couture sewing. Together, we can make a lasting impact for generations to come.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding these adjustments, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are always here to assist you.

Thank you once again for your unwavering support and commitment to our cause. We are honored to have you as part of our community.

We will have a dedicated tour guide while we immerse ourselves in the luxurious ambiance that once welcomed iconic stars such as Charlie Chaplin, Cary Grant, and Greta Garbo. We are hosting this tour to highlight the unique connection between Hearst Publications, Charles James, and Mrs. Randolph Hearst Jr.

This exclusive tour intertwines Central California's proud heritage with the extraordinary legacy of Hearst Publications and the artistic genius of Charles James. This is your chance to be part of this enchanting journey as we pay homage to the relationship between Hearst Publications, Charles James, and Mrs. Randolph Hearst Jr., once considered the best-dressed woman and author of "Horses of San Simeon."
