The last month has been seriously busy...so busy in fact that I missed the May newsletter entirely. So, welcome to the news for June! As many of you know, the Samford and Surrounds Art Trail and Open Studios are now under way. I am not participating with my studio this year, but I have classes running in conjunction. There are, however, 40ish artists who have their studios and work open for exhibition for the first 4 weekends in June, so make sure you go and have a look at some of them. You can access the guide by clicking on the link below: |

There are numerous workshops on offer, so make sure you drop in to the "learn" section of the website to see what's on offer. If you would prefer weekly classes or don't see what you are after, let me know and I will do my best to accommodate your needs. You can also contact me if you are looking for one on one workshops. We are coming up to the school holidays which usually means I will take a break from classes. However, I will be having some surgery scheduled for July 11th, so will be on a brief break from then until Sunday 21st July inclusive. If you have already paid for classes that extend into the early part of next term, don't worry, I will work with you to schedule them in. Kids' classes will break for the holidays and all other scheduled classes will recommence after July 21st. Full day retreats happen on the third Sunday of the month, except for next month, for the reason I have given above. The August full day retreat will again be Gum Blossoms and September's retreat is mixed media mandalas. This month's retreat coming up on Sunday (16th) is Fabulous Forests in Watercolour. All prices include class materials. Term time classes will still be able to be booked per class or for blocks of 2, 5 or a full term of sessions. One off no obligation trial lessons are available at $20. Don't forget that I will be offering workshops every weekend during the Samford Art Trails this year, so as well as visiting studios, kick start your own artistic endeavours |

Featured Product: Traveller's Tree. $210 framed and ready to hang |
|
|
Add a touch of wanderlust to your home with this stunning Traveller's Tree art piece. The small size makes it perfect for any space and comes ready to hang. The vibrant colors of bright yellows, orange, and turquoise, accented with silver leaf, will instantly grab attention. The lovely old tree depicted in the forefront is reminiscent of those seen while traveling, and the abstract background, created by layering collage, adds depth and intrigue. With the faint outline of an aqueduct in the distance, this piece emphasizes the way trees oversee changes in our world over time. Mixed media with collaged papers, ink, acrylic paint and silver leaf. Image: 25.4cm (w) x 30.5cm (h). Ready to hang in black and silver 3.5cm thick frame. | | |

Blog Because I missed last month's newsletter, you have a choice of two blogs to read this month: A quick word about inner voices and my take on the teacher shortage. Better yet, read them both! |
