Hello from FaithInvest – we hope you are all keeping safe and well in these strange times. Despite coronavirus, FaithInvest has been very busy developing partnerships and programmes in recent months. Although we are sad that Covid-19 forced the cancellation of our full schedule of events for the year – including our Inaugural Member Event – we are planning to reschedule them as soon as it is safe to travel. Therefore, we are now organising a series of online events and webinars for the weeks and months ahead. See below for details as well as of the exciting developments for our Faith Long-term Plans programme, which we are organising in partnership with the International Network for Conservation and Religion (INCR) and WWF-UK. |

FAITH LONG-TERM PLANS Working in partnership with the International Network for Conservation and Religion (INCR) and WWF, FaithInvest has launched a major new programme engaging faiths to develop plans to use their assets and influence – including their investments – to drive practical action to benefit people and planet. On Monday September 28, we will officially announce the Faith Long-term Plans programme at the global NGO event for the UN's first Biodiversity Summit, where the Leaders' Pledge for Nature and Faith Call to Action will be announced. This programme has generated huge interest from religious groups. Already 60 faiths from around the world have signed up to develop a Plan, and we are anticipating at least 100 will do so by the time we launch them in June 2021, ahead of the UN's COP26 climate change conference. INCR will be responsible for delivering much of this programme; FaithInvest will focus on the specific issue of encouraging faiths to develop policies aligning their investments with their faith values in their Plans. |

GREEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP MOOCs |
We are delighted to announce that UNDP's Green Entrepreneurship MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) is now open for registration. This six-week online course, which begins on November 2, offers a step-by-step framework for transforming a green business idea into a viable business plan. We have been working with partners to provide a faith perspective on green entrepreneurship from three faiths: Catholic, Hindu and Chinese Traditions. |
Each week, the course will include six slides from each faith. This is the first time a UN course has included a faith 'lens'. The aim is to provide participants with additional insights related to a particular religion or tradition. The hope is that the Green Entrepreneurship MOOC will help to create a new generation of entrepreneurs whose businesses both protect people and planet and provide opportunities for impact investment. |
