Our 2023 AGM took place on September 11 via Zoom. Our guest speaker was Deanna Holt-Schmitt, MA Ecology, University of Quebec, who presented research findings on the 'Moss of Lake Superior's Forests.' ​

Johanna Rowe, a local Wawa heritage consultant and Friends of Lake Superior Park board member, hosted an Art History in the Park talk! Join Johanna, covering the rich and storied history of artists in the park, including members of the Group of Seven. Participants learned how the landscape has inspired people from time immemorial to the present day. Watch the event below.

Bat Talk by University of Winnipeg

Just in time for Halloween, we hosted a talk by the Willis Bat Lab at the University of Winnipeg that focused on threats facing bats in Ontario such as White-nose Syndrome, and the research their lab does to better understand and protect bats.

Species at Risk in the Great Lakes
We teamed up with the Toronto Zoo's Kat Lucas for an hour-long dive into the world of great lakes species at risk, including those in Lake Superior, and what we can do to help protect these sensitive ecosystems.
