Hello friends and followers! I'm not feeling creative enough this morning to write anything special up top, so I'll simply say that I appreciate you being here. |

Last month I completed this medical illustration project for a client at Seoul National University in South Korea, depicting three different methods of administering chemotherapy for retinoblastoma, a cancer of the eye most common in children. This illustration was uniquely enjoyable to work on, because it includes several of my favorite things to draw: portraits, surgical gloved hands, eye anatomy, and medical devices. |

Next month I'll be starting a quarterly book review column for the Association of Medical Illustrators newsletter, so in this section of this newsletter I'll be featuring some highlights from that plus some other favorite relevant reads from over the years. I'm currently still making my way through Building Science Graphics by Jen Christiansen for my May review for the AMI. The other book I'd like to spotlight here is the Graphic Artists Guild Handbook for Pricing & Ethical Guidelines. This is probably not something I'll ever read front-to-back, but it's a hugely valuable resource that I open up at least once a month whenever I have a question about pricing, licensing, contracts, and a whole host of other things. It's a must-have for any working artist. |

I'm taking an unofficial break from markets and pop-ups for a little bit until some good ones come along that seem worthwhile. Undoubtedly things will begin to pick up again during the summer months! Keep an eye on studiohromi.com/events for updates. You can also shop online at studiohromi.com/shop and while supplies last at the following locations in Grand Rapids: Grand Rapids Public Museum Curiosity Shop, Scorpion Hearts Club, and Zabház. As always, Instagram is the best way to keep up with all of my goings-on and behind-the-scenes goodies, but you can follow me on any of the platforms below, and on Tumblr. |
