The Postural Restoration Institute® live course, Integration for Geriatrics, provided a thorough introduction to the PRI® science as it applies to the older adult population. Sara T. was able to find tons of great takeaways that she has been able to apply to her treatment sessions as well as concepts that her patients can fully understand and appreciate. PRI® presents such an innovative way of looking at the natural asymmetries of the human body and how they can become implicated in dysfunction. We are looking forward to learning more! |

Seattle isn't just the land for Space Needle gazing and warf adventure-having. For our PT, Rachel, Seattle held a PRI® course all about visual-postural integration that broadened and deepened her knowledge and application of how our vision and body work together in order to help heal us. Learning about these interactions and integrations is supporting Rachel in providing our patients with a more individualized and unique physical therapy experience that treats every person as a whole body, not just a body part experiencing pain. |

Lincoln, NE Brian was lucky enough to take part in the Postural Restoration Institute's® (PRI) Advanced Integration class, which puts together the three primary classes to look at the human body in a truly 3-dimensional fashion. Taking this class was part of the process for Brian to earn his Postural Restoration Certified™ (PRC) designation. He is now one of 201 people in the world with this certification! In Brian's words, "PRI is more than just a 'tool in the tool box.' It is a revolutionary thought process that analyzes how people move and appreciates the idea that humans are built asymmetrically. I use this thought process to empower people get themselves out of pain or dysfunction and help them to avoid future injuries." |

Cheering on Madison Fighters come in all forms- some short, some tall, some, some old, some young- and some are 17 year old Madison Clark. Madison started coming to our clinic in 2018, but we have been lucky enough to know her family for a few years now. At the age of five, Madison was diagnosed with Epilepsy, and after several invasive brain operations and different mixtures of anti-seizure medication, has found little relief. |

On December 13th, 2018, Madison had her biggest surgery to date, removing a golf ball sized portion of her brain in order to rid her of constant seizures. To show our support, the ProActive team sported "Madison purple" the day of her surgery. The procedure was successful, and Madison is now recovering at home with her family. We do not know the long-term affects of the surgery yet, but we are hoping for some long-awaited relief for this wonderful friend of ours. |

Sweaty Sweater 2018 As running, beer, and ugly sweater enthusiasts, the ProActive team was more than ready for this year's Sweaty Sweater Race. Our very own PT, Ruth (pictured middle), won 4th overall in the race, granting us self-appointed bragging rights- or so we'd like to think. Proceeds from the Sweaty Sweater will be donated to buy holiday food baskets or grocery gift cards for local families is need through the Adopt-a-Family organization. |
