Limit water use in the garden in dry weather. Provide water for wildlife, such as a bird bath with pebbles on which insects can pause to drink. Use rainwater or dechlorinated tapwater to top up ponds. Keep containers handy to save cooled water from kitchen and bathroom activities to water pots, ideally watering in the evening to limit evaporation.
