Hello!

I would like to start by thanking each of you who sent emails and kind thoughts about my father. In my last email, he had just been admitted to the hospital after collapsing at Walmart. At that point it was unclear if he was going to survive. I am elated to tell you that my father has been released from the hospital and is making a miraculous recovery. He's the only person I personally know who has died and come back to life. My hero. Very happy he's still here in this world with us. Thank you again for your support.

I've been interviewing our Cyber Smut contributors, and excited to let you know five interviews are now on our blog. Some are written and some are video. Yeah, I had no idea how much I was going to love doing this! These are sensitive, intelligent, hilarious and highly creative people. In short, I think you're going to enjoy these.

1. Liam Hogan - 'Plastic People'

2. Ellie Stewart - 'Send Nudes'

3. Erica Buist - 'To All the Avatars I've Loved Before'

4. Drew Pisarra - 'Actinium'

5. Julian Bishop - 'Tracker'

I'll be posting new interviews daily. Here's our blog link: www.gutspublishing.com/blog

Our first Cyber Smut review/blurb is in! Many thanks Nate Ragolia.

“In Cyber Smut, editor Julianne Ingles has collected a dynamic batch of essays, poetry and short fiction that joyously celebrates and thoughtfully questions how advancing technology has altered the course of human sexuality, and love. It's a playful, raucous, and sincere literary survey of digital diddling in all its forms.”— Nate Ragolia, publisher, Spaceboy Books LLC, author of The Retroactivist and There You Feel Free

Euphoric Recall

Very excited to reveal the cover for Aidan Martin's debut memoir! Aidan and I have been editing this manuscript and we're both pleased with the progress we're making - and looking forward to sharing this story with you. It is grit, in all its glory. And accessible. Here's a short description by Aidan:

“As a schoolboy already caught up in addiction, I stood outside of a McDonalds waiting for a man I thought was my friend. A friend I met online. It would change my life forever. I was a streetwise kid growing up in a tough housing scheme. But the Internet was a new phenomenon. Euphoric Recall details my recovery from extreme trauma and addiction. As a Scottish working-class lad who grew up in a new town—Livingston—I also survived brutal experiences with suicide, violence and severe mental health issues. One day, I decided to write a memoir about it all. I hold nothing back.”

Release date is 12 February 2021. Pre-orders will be available soon.

Stay well.

All best,

Julianne
