BGC Joliet Launches 2020 Alternative Summer Session

We had a great launch of our 2020 Alternative Summer Session on June 22! Youth received a brand new backpack to keep, along with activities for the week and a special treat bag for fun! Summer meal service also officially began thanks to our amazing partners at the Northern Illinois Food Bank!

We were even joined by Boys & Girls Club of Joliet Board President,

Amanda Moretti! Thank you, Amanda, true leadership in action!

The Alternative Summer Session includes the following:

-2 daily meals per day, lunch and snack (curbside pick up)

-Weekly activity kits that promote education, health & welfare, and life skills (curbside pick up)

-Virtual games and mentoring w/Club staff

-Weekly challenges w/Club staff

-Monthly birthday celebrations for Club youth with our partner, The Birthday Giving Program

We also have BGC Joliet Youth Professional, Mr. Les, producing weekly videos for the kids! "Bumper Pool Wednesdays w/ Mr. Les" is published every Wednesday on BGC Joliet social media outlets and can also be found at the following link: Bgcjoliet.com/les

Despite the recent challenges, the Club continues to move forward for our community youth...we may bend, but we do not break!

The 2020 Alternative Summer Session would not be possible without the dedicated support of the United Way of Will County and additional community partners/sponsors. Thank you all for investing in the Boys & Girls Club of Joliet!
