Stream Treatment Information
Constructed stream riffles consist of rock and boulders that are placed into the streambed. Riffles help stabilize the streambed in areas where moderate grade changes occur. Riffles also help regulate sediment transport within the stream. Riffles provide wildlife benefits by oxygenating the water and creating habitat for fish and macroinvertebrates.
