Dear valued subscriber,
I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits.
As we celebrate 9 years since I took the reins as the business owner of Women's and Breast Imaging (WBI), I am filled with gratitude for the continued support and trust of our patients and referrers in our mission.
Women’s and Breast Imaging, a 42-year-old institution, has a rich history of trailblazing in the field of diagnostic breast imaging, and these past 9 years have been a profound testament to the power of self-leadership and unwavering dedication.
Throughout my journey as a specialist breast radiologist, mother of two, wife, triathlete, author and advocate for breast health, I have learned invaluable lessons that I hold close to my heart. Today, I would like to share nine reflections that have shaped my path as a leader, a woman, and a mother:
Self-Leadership: I discovered that being the director of my life is not just a title but an empowering mindset. By embracing self-leadership, I have been able to steer WBI on a path of innovation, setting new standards in breast imaging for the benefit of our patients.
Reinvention and Adaptability: Life, like technology, is ever-changing. The key to survival and growth lies in our willingness to adapt and reinvent ourselves. This resilience has been a guiding light during times of uncertainty.
Embracing the Journey: Achieving milestones and success is gratifying, but it is the journey that shapes us. Celebrating both victories and challenges has deepened my appreciation for the lessons each experience imparts.
A Grateful Heart: As a mother and wife, my heart swells with gratitude for the love and support of my family. Expressing appreciation for the people and moments that enrich our lives cultivates a spirit of abundance.
Overcoming Self-Doubt: Negative self-talk can be a formidable opponent, but I have learned to challenge those thoughts with affirmations of my capabilities and worth. This mental strength has been instrumental in my pursuit of excellence.
Nurturing Self-Care: As a self-leader, I recognise the significance of caring for myself, both physically and emotionally. Taking time for self-care allows me to replenish my energy and remain present for my loved ones and my team.
Continuous Growth: Learning is a lifelong journey, and I strive to be a perpetual student of life. By investing in my growth and development, I can better serve our patients, our team, and my family.
Serving Others: Leadership is not about standing above others but uplifting them. Being a servant leader has allowed me to foster a supportive and nurturing environment at WBI, one that encourages the growth and success of everyone around me.
Faith in the Future: With each passing year, I am filled with excitement for what lies ahead. The future is brimming with opportunities to expand WBI's reach, support more women, and leave a lasting impact on breast health care.
I am deeply grateful to have you as part of my community. As I commemorate 9 years of empowering women, leading innovation, and saving lives, I extend my heartfelt thanks to you and my local community for their unwavering support.
Together, let us look forward to our 10-year anniversary and beyond as we continue our journey of growth.
Thank you once again for being part of this incredible journey. Here's to embracing self-leadership, celebrating life's joys, and creating a brighter future for women's health and well-being.
With sincere appreciation and warm wishes,
Dr Vanessa Atienza-Hipolito FRANZCR
