Second Quarter News

From the Director's Chair

As we head into the summer months of 2021, I can’t help but be hopeful in having an eventful season with less restrictions than the summer of 2020. Last year, we all saw and experienced a summer like never before. Pools were closed, kids were not involved in summer activities, and the neighborhoods were much more silent than in years past.

This year, Family Advocates is excited to bring back summer programming for youth in the counties we serve. We will also be opening our doors once again to provide support groups for adults as well as youth. This raises my level of hope even more!

Please check out our website for more information to learn about all of the programming Family Advocates has to offer. And, may your summer be filled with laughter and joy as we all try to regain some sort of normalcy in our daily lives. As always stay safe and healthy in all of the sunny days that lie ahead.

______

April was Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) and Child Abuse Awareness Month (CAAM).  Both of these causes are supported by Family Advocates' mission to eradicate abuse. During this month of awareness, our youth department and sexual assault outreach department shared commonly asked questions and statistics surrounding those focused areas.
