Dear TALC Friends,
The fall colors are almost at peak and our next Community Conversation is just around the corner. Please join us for our third and final Oversight conversation with a theme of Justice, on Monday October 12th from 3pm to 5pm. How does justice fit into our vision and how can we insure that people who are harmed have their needs addressed? How do we hold those that have caused harm accountable and provide a path for transformative justice? These are HUGE questions, we have many more to tackle, and we need your help to find the answers. Join us for the conclusion to this powerful conversation. It is a pivotal and important piece to the foundation we are building and will guide us as we create the Minnesota Theater Safety Standards (MNTSS).
The recent exposure of inappropriate behavior at a Theater in the Round Players (TRP) has amplified the need for what we are trying to accomplish with the MNTSS. The timing of our conversation about Justice is ironic in the wake of this news, and one of our Admin Circle Leaders, Laura Stearns, has written a blog post about this latest development in the Twin Cities theater scene. It's titled "Is Justice Even Possible?" and you can see what she has to say about it here.
We hope that you are able to join us for this important conversation.

And finally, we are planning to have a panel discussion in February or March, once we have a draft of the MNTSS to share with the community. We plan to gather a group of leaders from the community to discuss the progress of the document and how we can all make sure that our efforts to create them are not in vain.
Warmly,
Laura, Elena, Jay, Catherine and Maria
