What's happening?

KYCK is the Katoomba Youth Conference, run by Katoomba Christian Conventions. It's a great weekend of learning from God's word about what trusting Jesus looks like for a 21st Century highschooler (sorry, KYCK doesn't allow those in Year 6 to attend). We'll be joining with 3000 other youth from around the country. It's a great opportunity to lift our eyes above the horizon of the Lanyon Valley and celebrate what God is doing in other areas as well. When Exactly?

Leaving 12:30pm from the Gordon Community Centre, Friday 26th of April.

Returning Sunday, April 28th, in the afternoon. We're not exactly sure what the precise arrival time will be, as it depends on traffic coming back down the mountain. But we'll be sure to keep you updated on the day as much as possible.

How Much?

The total cost of the camp, which includes the deposit you are about to pay, will be about $240.00. We remain imprecise regarding the total cost because it may vary, depending on how many youth register, the accommodation we get, etc. As soon as we know the final cost, we'll be sure to update you.

If paying all that sounds a bit tricky, then we're happy to work something out like a payment plan - we don't want finances to get in the way of a youth attending this great camp.

But right now, all we need from you is a $50 deposit before the 3rd of November to secure a spot on camp. To make a deposit, pay to Lanyon Valley Anglican Church | BSB - 805 022 | Acct - 0339 4251 ref: KYC[INSERT SURNAME] e.g. KYCSmith (NB This is not our normal giving account)

What to bring (we'll email this out to you again - don't worry too much about remembering it)

Bible and pens (paper Bible preferably - the conference uses the NIV version like our church). Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc.) Towel, sleeping bag, pillow case, linen, Autumnish clothes, Warm clothes, Wet weather gear, money to buy some good books and CDs, Snacks to keep them going on the bus.

Please ensure that your youth aren't going overboard with the amount of stuff they're bringing. We have limited space in the busses and cars so encourage them to leave some clothes in their wardrobe and not to worry about trombone practice for one weekend.

Please also ensure that they aren't brining anything dumb (drugs, weapons-grade plutonium [nb I'd prefer they didn't bring plutonium of any grade], anything that is going to distract from the purpose of the weekend - that they would know Jesus and be changed by him).
