We are very fortunate to have an extremely active and vibrant Pack. As we continue to grow, it is becoming more critical that we get help from each family. We currently have 76, registered Scouts, representing 64 families. 23 families have at least one parent actively involved in the Pack's operations. Every family should be involved! We aren't asking each parent to become a registered leader. You don't need any Scouting experience to help! |

The 2020 Pack 375 Pinewood Derby will be on Saturday, March 28th. The race day schedule may need to be modified from previous years due to a schedule change at the church. We are working that out and will send additional information soon. Kits were distributed to Scouts at the December Pack Meeting. Den Updates It's been another busy month for our Scouts! |
Den 8 - Girl Lions The Lions have been very busy! We have been practicing Scout Oath and Scout Law and working hard to remember all of our First Aid Skills. We have worked the last couple of months to earn our Animal Kingdom requirement. At our February meeting, Officer Carter came and shared his service to our community and the girls got to ask questions, see the important tools he uses on the job, and got to check out his squad car. These girls have been so busy working hard toward being Tigers. |
Den 9 - Boy Lions Lion Den 9 used some of our pent up energy to explore the properties of motion and force as we completed our Gizmos & Gadgets Adventure. We learned all about Newton's 3 Laws of Motion and the properties of force as we experimented with marble chutes, various sizes and shapes of balls and used our putting green. This was a great adventure to explore before Pinewood Derby where we will use our knowledge as we design and build our derby cars. Our Adventure and evening wrapped up with a lesson on re-using simple materials like newspaper, toilet paper tubes and dryer lint to make homemade firestarters. |
Den 7 - Tigers The Tiger Den had an awesome visit to Alpha Fire Company. Chief Bair first gave us a tour of the station, showed us what it is like to live at a fire station and explained how fire fighters are dispatched. We then had a chance to explore the fire equipment, sit in the trucks, try on head sets and ask dozens of questions. We finished off by learning the proper way to "Stop Drop & Roll" (which was informative for parents as well) and taught the Scouts how use a blanket to drag someone heavier them them to safety. |
Den 3 - Park Forest Bears The Park Forest Bears have been laughing their way through the last 2 den meetings! First we learned about the Yo-Yo, the safety rules, how to string a one and simple trick. After yo-yo-ing around we learned about tongue twisters and what makes us laugh (Roaring Laughter Adventure)! We told jokes and even created some funny stories mad libs style. These boys had some great ideas so you can only imagine what our stories were about! For our second meeting we had a visitor, Erica Sankey. She came tell us all about Forensics! The boys loved every minute learning from you, Erica! I think they really liked fingerprinting themselves and the felt tip marker experiment! Thank you for your awesome knowledge and fun activities! |
Den 4 - Gray's Woods Bears This month we finished our Baloo the Builder adventure. The bears did an amazing job with their projects and had fun working with the tools in our toolboxes. |
Den 2 - Webelos These Scouts explored bubbling chemistry and built series and parallel electrical circuits and a scale model of our solar system. Then they celebrated the Space Frogs Klondike Derby team with an ice cream sundae party that was out of this world. The next week, the Webelos visited Dr. Mark Hedglin's biochemistry lab and solved some scientific riddles involving unlabeled test tube samples and flammable soap bubbles. Adventures in Science are exciting! |
Den 1 - AOL The Arrow of Light scouts have been busy this month! Since they are preparing to crossover to Scouts BSA during the Blue & Gold Ceremony, they have been finishing up the last of their requirements in Cub Scouting. Many of them have also been working on additional electives at home (one of the favorites has been the Yo-Yo Adventure!). To culminate their last year in Pack 375, they participated in the 49th Annual Klondike Derby at Seven Mountains. This year's theme was "Destination Moon" and they completed various tasks and challenges throughout the day including first aid, cooking, portage, archery, bb guns, constellation identification, moon mapping, and moon trivia. We are so proud of these kids and all that they've accomplished with their amazing attitudes! |
