Ballet Intensive with Miss. Anastasia Kubanda

Anastasia Kubanda was born in Front Royal, Virginia, and trained at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and San Francisco Ballet School. She was a trainee with SFBS in 2014 and was named an apprentice with the San Francisco Ballet in 2015.  With the San Francisco Ballet she has danced in Tomasson’s Giselle (Wilis), Nutcracker (Snow and  Flowers), Swan Lake (Swan and Czardas), and Prism, and Balanchine’s Coppelia (Friend, War and Discord, and Bride, and Cranko’s Onegin.  As a student she danced in Tomasson/Possokov’s Don Quixote (Dryads), and Makarova’s (after Petipa) “The Kingdom of the Shades” from Lay Bayadere, Act II.  For the SFBS she danced a principal role in the U.S. premiere of Macmillan’s Soirees musicales, and Tomasson’s Bartok Divertimento.  She is a long term recipient of the Marion Park Lewis Foundation.

Ann is currently a student at Christendom College in Front Royal, VA and is hoping to complete her B.A. in English Language and Literature in December of 2018.  She has been dancing since she was able to walk, but at the age of five she began classes in Tap and Ballet.  At the age of seven she began Irish dancing at the Boyle School of Irish Dance in Manassas, and danced in several St. Patrick’s Day parades and Irish Dance feises. But in 2011, she realized that Tap was her true passion and began solely taking tap classes at Northern Virginia Dance Academy where she still studies under Ms. Carrie Pflepsen.  Ann has performed tap dances in multiple demonstrations with the NOVA Dance Company as well as in the All Saints Church Winter Cabaret.  In addition to tap dancing, Ann has been swing dancing since she was a little girl.

Ages that are listed for each class is merely a guidleine. Dancers are reccomended for a specific class depending upon their technique level and how they have progressed thorugh classes this past season

Placement is still being evaluated during this final month of classes and the recital performance. Level reccomendations will be finalized by June 10th
