Monday, July 10

 

Jump start your morning with coffee at Banyan Cafe & Catering then head next door to Growing Up for your little ones to enjoy Busy Little Hands. This play group for kids ages 0 to 3 encourages free play in a relaxed setting. At 6pm, hear stories that explore sensitive issues that are part of the everyday lives of children and families in Tender Topics at Largo Public Library. This week's topic is Respect the Environment and features a visit from the local U.S. Coast Guard Department.

Tuesday, July 11

 

It's that time again! Break out those cow spots and head to a Chick-fil-A near you for Cow Appreciation Day. Dress like a cow and receive a free adult entree or kids meal from opening until 7pm. Don't forget to save room for dessert at Practically Pikasso's Ice Cream Social. $20 per painter includes an ice cream sundae bar provided by Tea by the Sea and a paint-your-own sundae dish to keep. Reservations are required and all ages are welcome.

Wednesday, July 12

 

Get your kids excited about science this morning at St. Petersburg's West Community Library! Kids ages 5 to 10 will get tuned-in to learning with fun demonstrations and experiments at Sounds Like Science presented by Mad Science. Later, children entering first through sixth grades can compete for prizes in a Geography Bee at James Weldon Johnson Community Library. Registration begins at 5:30pm and the competition begins at 6:15pm. Study packets are available at the library.

Introduce your pre-schoolers to the wonders of the natural and cultural world at Wee-Time at Weedon where they will be treated to a variety of stories and hands-on activities connected to the environment. Pre-registration for this free program closes 24 hours in advance. For some nighttime fun, check out Night Market St. Pete from 7 to 11pm. Shop under the stars with local vendors, delicious food and drinks, a Kids Fun Zone and DJ.
