McKamy Robotics Students ROCKED it at TSA State!

Parents and all MRC Students....join us for TSA State Awards recognition at our April Monthly MRC Student Meeting this Thursday, April 13th at 4:15pm in McKamy Library!  

McKamy 20th Anniversary Celebration

McKamy Robotics Reminder - Wednesday 4/12! 

McKamy is first middle school in LISD to have a robotics program!

Tomorrow night at the McKamy 20th Anniversary celebration, McKamy Robotics will be highlighted for students and parents to see robots in action on the cafeteria stage.  We will be focusing our time on the VEX field between 5:45pm-6:15pm and 6:45pm - 7:15pm between events.  Our greatest exposure is 6-6:15p and then 7:00-7:15pm. PMs who have confirmed to support MRC with their robots and some of their students are:  Robot Destroyers, Battlebotz, Starminatorz and TEX VEX.  Please wear your MRC t-shirt to the event.

All teams as shared are welcome to participate or have their robot there for display (e-mail mckamyrobotics@gmail.com with questions). 

We know some of you are also doing other short highlights at the 20th Anniversary, like choir or honor band. No worries it will all work helping each other :) Even if you did not purchase tickets to the spaghetti dinner you are welcome to come support MRC and our club future on the field!

McKamy Robotics End of Year Important Dates!

Thursday, May 11th in McKamy Cafeteria

• 6:30pm - Annual MRBC General Membership Meeting (MRBC Officer Elections and Approval of 2017-2018 Preliminary Budget *)
• 7pm or Immediately Following - MRC Annual EOY Family Celebration - more fun details to come!)

*Note: 2017-2018 Nominating Slate will be posted at least 5 days before the meeting from our Nominating Committee.

McKamy Robotics Student Membership 2017-2018

• Returning 2017-2018 MRC Student Registration and Membership $100 Payment Due Date: April 24th by 4pm (online and payment in MRC lock box outside Mr. Blalack's room)
  • As in past years, all eligible returning students will have first membership renewal for 2017-2018 by this deadline! 
  • A link will be sent this week to all eligible current 6th and 7th grade members directly for online registration.

• New Member Interest Meeting: Wednesday, April 26th at 6:30pm in Robotics Lab
  • As in the past students will be leading the presentation, showing their robots and sharing their experiences.  Flyers will go up after McKamy 20th Anniversary Celebration.  MRC will be up on the stage in cafeteria demonstrating their robots and throwing some stars and cubes on the field during the 20th Anniversary as the first MS to have a robotics program (see your Parent Mentor for more information).  Tell all your friends!!
  • Membership will open online immediately following the meeting.
  • Maximum students for MRC is 60 with 2 parent mentors per team with 6 members on a team.
  • New Members Dues:  $75 One-Time Fee plus $100 Membership dues = $175
