Date Change for March MRC Student Meeting

TSA Regionals Time Is Here!

TSA Region 11 Individual and NQE Entries Competition

• When: Saturday, March 4, 2017 
• Where:  Flower Mound High School
• TSA Entries:  Mr. Blalack and Shevta Gupta from MRBC will be taking all of the students entries we have already collected for McKamy to FMHS Friday late afternoon, during the designated drop off time.
• NQE Interviews:  As a reminder... students with NQE entries will need to attend either Friday evening or Saturday for interviews.  Please see Mr. Blalack for times based on entry category.
• Region 11 Needs Volunteers for Regionals: The event still needs volunteers to run smoothly. FMHS who is hosting would appreciate help on Friday evening and on Saturday from morning to early afternoon. No prior experience is needed for any of the volunteer spots. Orientation for judges will take place on Friday at 5pm. Dinner from Jason's Deli will be provided. Please contact Rick Kenyon ASAP at rpkenyon@yahoo.com or 972-849-7529 if you are able to help. • Dress:  For Regional NQEs all MRC students doing an interview or onsite event for NQE event are to wear nice slacks, shirt and dress shoes. If attending the event to observe please wear their MRC T-Shirt and Jeans or nice shorts. The TSA dress is however required for all students advancing to State and National Qualifying entry advancing to national. TSA Dress: tsaweb.org/Dress-Code 

March MRC Monthly Student Meeting (DATE CHANGE)

• When: Thursday, March 23rd 4:15pm - 5:15pm (after spring break)
• Where:  McKamy Library
• TSA State Trip Parent/Student Meeting:  Immediately following at 5:15pm there will be a meeting for all students and one of their parents WHO ADVANCE AND ARE GOING TO WACO regarding final logistics, required forms, LISD financial support of students, etc for the TSA State Competition in Waco, TX April 6-8th.

Tough competition last Saturday, as the top middle school VEX teams competed in the North Texas State Championships in Greenville. Robot Destroyers finished 11th, Galactic Hydra 14th and Battlebotz 21st after the qualifying rounds. 

Robot Destroyers moved on to the quarterfinals in alliance selection of 8 two team alliances (usually 3 team alliances).  Robot Destroyers received special recognition with the coveted "Judges Award" noting their teamwork, design, Engineering Notebook and perseverance and professionalism even when they had a total blackout when a transformer went out at the school while competing.

McKamy Robotics is very proud of the successes of all 8 of our teams this VEX competition year!
