Many congratulations on the birth of your new baby!
& Thank you very much for asking me to take your little ones first photographs.

This is just a short (ish) guide on how to prepare yourself and your littles ready for your newborn session with me. If there is anything I can do to make your life easier as a new parent then I will do my upmost to during your time with me. I understand that not everything of a day goes to plan, that it takes half an hour to eventually leave the house after your started trying to leave. If you turn up a bit late or early this is all fine & if i turn up too early for you at your home, I am more than happy to wait until you are happy and comfortable.

Babies do very well for posing for photographs when they are in a very deep sleep. To encourage this I highly recommend, stimulating the baby at least two hours before your scheduled arrival, a warm bath always does the trick. This also means keeping them awake during the car ride here and trying refrain from feeding 2 hours before arrival as well (although I fully understand if this is completely impossible! I am afterall a mother myself!)

Once you arrive if you feed your baby straigh away and once burped, we will then start preparing them for their session. The hope is that they will drift off into a nice sleep now that thier bellies are full and they are nice and cozy...
however, newborn shoots generally mean that baby is striped down to their nappy and various outfits or wraps etc are placed on them. With the help of Mum/Dad (or both!) we will get your baby into your chosen outfit or begin the session with them just with their nappy/a strategicly placed scarf/blanket to hide the offending poo catcher!

From experience, babies that have been asleep prior to arrival are unfortunately the babies that are more difficult to pose - so, if at all possible, if you can ahere to the above advice, it will hopefully mean for a nice peaceful baby come photo session.

I will have some nice gentle classical music playing in the background (unless your session is at your home in which case you are in charge of music/noise) and keeping noise to a minimum is always a good idea.
♥
If you have any other concerns about your session or would like to have a chat about it, please feel free to drop me a line of give me a call.

I look forward to meeting you and your new bundle very soon.
