Also a classically trained guitarist, Michelle Qureshi is a composer and multi-instrumentalist who combines acoustic and electronic textures for her ambient new age pieces. She made her full-length recording debut with Of Light in 2012, releasing it on her own Music as Metaphor label. Qureshi followed it up the same year with Illumination, which built more lush atmospheres around instruments like acoustic guitar and Native American flute. The year 2014 brought three releases -- Suite Beats, Flow, and Meditations -- with Margalla Hills arriving the following year. Heart Dance Records then issued 2016's Scattering Stars, which was named Best Ambient Album of the Year by One World Music Radio.
