Jericho Walking

When our house closing fell through in September, we were heart-broken. A couple of weeks ago, I began to wonder if God wanted me to enter into a season of fast while we wait. As I prayed, I began sensing God wanted a much different sacrifice, but I was unsure what that looked like.

We were sharing this with Pastor Josh a few days later and he asked, “Have you prayed around the perimeter of your property?” It hadn’t crossed my mind and I’m not sure why. We’ve done prayer walks before. We couldn’t shake his words, so that Sunday night we sent out a text to our prayer team to see if they would join us as we walked, prayed and claimed scripture. Within moments everyone had responded that they were in.

As we walked and prayed, claimed scripture, & worshipped, God reminded us of His power, His love & His faithfulness. Halfway through our walk our friend Lisa was reminded of the instruction God gave Joshua regarding claiming what God had promised … Jericho. They were to walk around the perimeter of Jericho, BUT it would be God who would tear down the walls that kept the Israelites from entering into the land God had promised.

Like God did for Joshua and the Children of Israel, we are sensing God is breaking down strongholds that have kept our house from selling. Thank you Julia, Kent & Lynelle, Cliff & Melody and Larry & Sharon for walking our property and praying over the land each day while we were in Ohio and Michigan! We have continued the prayer walk every day since.

Monday we got a call from the buyer that their loan has been approved and we have a tentative closing set for mid-December <img src="https://static.wixstatic.com/media/5e9922_f08e343127774efe8d9971ba20f4b6e6.png_256" height="22" width="22">  Please continue to pray that all of the details will fall into place. We serve a mighty and good God!
