Do we look like farmers? This past Saturday we began a new partnership with Twin Garden Farms of Harvard, IL. They have generously offered to host a major fundraiser for us by bringing their amazing produce to the Elkhorn and Delavan Farmer's Markets. All summer long a major portion of each purchase will be contributed directly into our Outgoing Expense Fund. (Read about this below.) We will have a huge variety of vegetables, melons, herbs, fresh flowers and the amazing Mirai Sweetcorn (available around July 20th). We will be at each of the markets so, come on out and say hello, pick up some great produce and help orphan care in Kenya. The market times and locations are: |

Delavan Thursday - 3:00-6:00 pm Walworth Street by the Elephant Elkhorn Saturday - 8:00 am-12:30 pm Wisconsin Street on the Square |

Many of you have asked... Since we first announced our joining First Love Kenya full-time, many have asked, "when are you leaving?" Our International Director challenged us back in March to be ready to move by September. Wow, that's just around the corner! Setting an actual date and buying our plane tickets really comes down to four things: 1-Completing our Cross-Cultural Training, 2- Selling our house, 3- Filling up our Outgoing Expense Fund, and 4- Building a Team of Monthly Supporters. All four of these are actively in the works. Here's an update on each of them. |

CROSS-CULTURAL TRAINING This two-week pre-departure training equips people headed overseas with skills to help them navigate transition, stress, culture shock, and relationships so they can be more prepared and stay effective in whatever surroundings they find themselves. We are signed up to do this, September 7th in Joplin, MO. |
