2018 Student Scholarship Recipients Each year the Foundation offers scholarships to graduating Seniors who plan a career in the Arts. We gave out one scholarship in the beginning; thanks to our fund raising events and sponsors, we were able to increase it to two. This year, thanks to the support of Board Member, Arvind Nischal's Helping Hand Indo America organization, we added a third! Pictured with ACAF President Patti Krueger, and Board members, Jonettte McNaughton and Arvind Nischal, are this year's recipients, from left to right: Elisa Guerrero, Francis Cadiz, and Melany Coretes-Mederos. If you would like to contribute towards our Scholarship Fund, just go online and give as much as you can!! |

Announcing an Exciting New Project! The Arts Foundation has been a champion of public art in American Canyon and we are about to embark on an ambitious new project. Working with Nimbus Arts, the Boys & Girls Club of Napa Valley and the American Canyon Community Parks Foundation, we are going to raise funds to create a community mosaic art project, and install it at the new Boys & Girls Club in American Canyon. The picture above is clearly the "before!" Once funds are secured, we will work with Nimbus Arts to find an artist to develop the outline; and then we will engage the community throughout the year to build the mosaic, section by section. Once complete, it will be installed at the new Boys & Girls Club. Our goal is to raise the funds over the next several months, while we engage the artist and then set up dates and times to give the community a chance to be part of the process. Nimbus Arts has successfully completed several such community mosaics, and we are proud to work with them on American Canyon's first such project. We will keep you posted as we move forward. For now, keep your fingers crossed--we'll need all the financial help we can get!! |

Recycled Art for Earth Day! Last month we reported the Foundation teamed up with the City and AC Middle School, to offer a creative art project as part of this year's Earth Day Celebration (AmCan--By the Bay). Pictured above is the finished product, proudly on display at the City's Senior Multi-Use Center. The project used recycled materials: wine corks, plastic bottles, etc. Even the canvas was recycled (we used it for the first AmCan By the Bay!) We want to thank Jenifer Leahy and her students who helped out, as well as Board Members Jonette McNaughton, Roberta Labaw, Joey McNaughton and Gloria Fouts. |
