WEEKLY RECAP December 2nd-8th 2017 |
| | Tuesday, December 5th: “Navigating beginnings and endings." Transitions are a big deal. Transitions require adjustment. They require us to shake out of familiar patterns, for better or worse. They require us to evaluate and revaluate where we are; what we’re doing; what our goals are; what direction we’re heading. | | |
| | Thursday, December 7th: “Study hard. Study smart.” We’re all students of something. Whether we know it or not, and whether we like it or not. A student is someone who studies. “To study” means to observe, to pay attention, to remember, to refine one’s knowledge of a subject. This description fits everyone. | | |

| | Saturday, December 2nd (AM) We don't need to be in the "mood" to do something, to do it. | | |
| | Saturday, December 2nd (PM) Does an hour a week of working on your life, your confidence, your focus, your inner peace, seem like too much? | | |
| | Sunday, December 3rd (AM) If you could push the pause button on your life right now, and take a few steps back, and just observe...what would you notice? | | |
| | Sunday, December 3rd (PM) A choice many of us are faced with over and over again is: do we devote our focus to avoiding doing unpleasant things; or do we devote our focus to figuring out how to make it through doing unpleasant things? | | |
| | Monday, December 4th (AM) Some days are not going to be great. We're going to stumble. We're going to fall on our faces. We're going to misunderstand others. We're going to be misunderstood. Some days are going to be messy, discouraging, and stupid. | | |
| | Monday, December 4th (PM) Even if we're stressed...we don't "have" to do something self-destructive. Even if we're tired...we don't "have" to do something self-destructive. Even if we're discouraged, even if we're in pain, even if we're frustrated, even if we're angry... we don't "have" to do anything. | | |
Tuesday, December 5th (PM) When you're anxious about a task you have to do: give the task as much structure as you can. Give yourself as much of a "road map" to follow as is practical. And then break that "road map" down into as many small, doable chunks as you can.
| | Wednesday, December 6th (AM) Others may or may not give us the credit we deserve – at work, in our family lives, in our educational careers. We may or may not get credit for trying; for setting admirable goals; for doing everything we can to... | | |
| | Wednesday, December 6th (PM) Instead of trying to copy other people who we think are leading the lives we want to lead, it's more effective – and more doable – to get curious about the key things they know, understand, or do that makes them, them. | | |
Thursday, December 7th(PM) What's your number one "rule" for letting yourself feel good? You know what I mean. Everybody has "rules" they follow when it comes to allowing ourselves to feel or experience certain things. "I'm not allowed to be happy unless the people round me are happy."
| | Friday, December 8th (AM) Something a lot of people experience, but not a lot of people know how to put words to, is that feeling of being...out of place. That feeling that maybe we were born at the wrong time, in the wrong place. | | |
| | Friday, December 8th (PM) Many people feel like they need to "hide" their "neediness" from others. They fear that if they let their needs be known, they'll develop a reputation for being "high maintenance." | | |
