Tuesday, November 28th: 
“Trust the river."

Anyone who has tried to move on after a mistake, after a heartbreak, or after a loss, can tell you that it’s not easy. Our first impulse is to try to hold on to the moment, as if by holding on to it, we can somehow keep it from moving on. Maybe if we hold on to it long enough, hard enough, we can yank that now-past moment into the present, where we’ll have another shot at whatever just happened. We know it doesn’t work that way.

Thursday, November 30th:

“Changing your life is not a one-size-fits-all proposition...no matter what anyone tries to sell you.”

Any theory, any idea, any advice you receive on how to make change happen in your life is useless if you can’t realistically apply it in your life. It doesn’t matter how much sense it makes. It doesn’t matter how elegant the theory is. It doesn’t matter how charismatic of apparently successful the person who is selling the idea is.

Tuesday, November 28th (PM)

Remember: there's a huge difference between "accepting" a thing and "liking" a thing. "Accepting" a thing doesn't mean we approve of it; it doesn't mean we prefer it; it doesn't even mean that we think that thing should continue to exist as it exists. All "acceptance" means is that we're going to acknowledge that a thing exists, exactly as it exists – so we can get past our disbelief and move on to actually dealing with that thing's existence.
