Hi, Andrew here, and I’m pumped for the nearing competitions. From some of the parent mentors, most teams have ordered, and some even have started building. The first competition available to the students, is an added competition by FMHS (Flower Mound High School) o 12/3/2016, which is a self fund is ready but the first McKamy sponsored FMHS VEX Competition al teams will partiipate in is 1/14/2017.
If you haven’t taken a part of the root building or planning, you wouldn’t know about the process. Here’s a basic overview: The team gets together and designs the robot. Then they order their parts, and build the robot. Then, maybe during or after parts and designing, the programmers make a program so the robot can move or react. Then they go onto a competition and fine tune the robot.
Last month’s meeting included a team building exercise, which included not talking, while performing a task. This month's meeting has regular announcements, and a mock alliance selection, to inform the new players to the game. We will also see some old pictures on past competitions. Also, some TSA information will be given.
