Neighborhood Input and Informational Open House
at Jacob's Well Church on Wednesday, February 24th, 6:30 pm
An open house will be held at Jacob's Well Church to hear potential ideas and concerns from the community about the building project now being planned. Included are an addition and renovations to Jacob's Well Church as well as plans for the City Church property across the street. The demolition of City Church at 42nd and Terrace St. is being considered. This is a chance for Volker residents to learn more, ask questions, and give input.
Jacob's Well Church, 42nd and Wyoming Street, 6:30 pm
Lifelong Volker Resident, Helen Huffman...
is in the hospital at KU and she would like to have visitors. Helen has been a fixture at Volker meetings for many years, often bringing homemade cookies and speaking up about her concerns. If you are a friend of hers, please take the time to visit. That's Helen below on 39th Street - I won't say when!
TRAFFIC and PARKING Issues -
Follow up Input You Provided at the February meeting...
Many residents in Southwest Volker voiced concerns about parking issues due to commuters from KU, especially on Wyoming, Terrace and Bell. Because there were so many concerns in close proximity, it may be a good idea to make these requests for resident permit parking at the same time. Please note that establishing resident permit parking is a resident process and volunteers from each block are needed. Please contact Southwest Area Rep Patrick Faltico at rep1-SW@volkerna.org to help out and/or add your block. More information will be coming soon on other traffic issues.
NEXT VOLKER NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING is on March 10th...
About gardening of all kinds, vegetable, flowers, shade, sunny, yards, even a bit about rain gardens. Got some expertise? We hope you'll attend and share, or consider participation on the panel! If interested, contact Susan at president@volkerna.org. We'll also discuss the City Earnings Tax. Thanks!
