「百大明日畫家（'100 Painters of Tomorrow'）」此計畫的評審委員會是由英國畫廊Beers London總監Kurt Beers、東京都現代美術館的首席策展人Yuko Hasegawa、倫敦當代藝術中心的執行董事Gregor Muir，和多位歐美知名藝評人、收藏家及藝術家所組成。經公開徵選，從全球超過4300位藝術家中評選出100位藝術家，黃向藝名列其中，成為目前當代最受世界藝壇矚目、最值得關注的藝術家之一。
黃向藝受到日本BL漫畫和耽美文化的洗禮，藉著窺看者和旁觀者的位置，把自我投射到美少年之間最隱私又最親密的愛情關係。她融合傳統水墨技法和次文化界域的空間，使人感官上獲得平靜、舒服和愉悅，並運用BL題材打破性別道德的束縛，解放女性深層潛在所壓抑的情慾，營造出似對比又感通的畫面張力，擴展了當代水墨表現的廣度，具有著開創性的意義。

Authored by Director Kurt Beers of the art gallery Beers London and published by Thames & Hudson, '100 Painters of Tomorrow' introduces and presents the work of a global cast of painters selected by some of the prominent names in contemporary art, including Yuko Hasegawa, the Chief Curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, Gregor Muir, the Executive Director of the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, and multiple art critics, collectors and artists. Through an open call for submission that drew over 4,300 entries, Wong Xiang-Yi was selected as one of the 100 world’s most exciting emerging painters working today.
Inspired by the homoeroticism of yaoi, aka BL (Boys’ Love), Wong Xiang-Yi projects herself onto the intimate love relationship of beautiful boys through the viewer’s objective perspective. She applies traditional figure ink painting technique to the subculture to present an atmosphere of peace, sweetness and comfort, breaking the border line of morality and releasing the inner suppression of female fantasy. This unique style transforms the limited dimensions of the paintings, expends the normality of contemporary ink painting, and ultimately creates a new way of seeing.
