New skills!

31 January 2019

Can you believe we're already at the end of January!?!  How are your New Year's Resolutions holding up?  Perhaps you would like to learn a new skill?

I ran a wonderful Reiki Level 1 workshop on Tuesday and my two learning partners really connected.  On leaving they declared they want to complete their level 2 together later this year!

We huddled together for most of the day (with my dog Tess as willing assistant!) and talked about what Reiki is, its history and applications.

Following their attunements we went on to learn practising self Reiki and then they carried out short Reiki sessions on each other.

Both of my learners had wonderful experiences during their attunements and also during their short treatments.

My training days are limited to just two people.  This is for a number of reasons.  I do believe that your Reiki training should be a special time and with just two people you have my undivided attention.  You will also be encouraged to ask questions and discuss areas of particular interest or of concern.

Reiki is such a beautiful therapy and following your Level 1 training you will be able to give yourself self treatments and to practice on family, friends and also your pets.

If you love the sound of this just get in touch with me to book onto one of my workshops.  Training takes place in my home on Hayling and the dates for this year are:

 - Monday 11 March

 - Wednesday 24 April

 - Tuesday 4 June

 - Wednesday 17 July

 - Thursday 29 August

 - Thursday 10 October

 - Wednesday 20 November

Focus on.... taking time for yourself!

My husband and I (and of course Tesspup) had a wonderful few days away in Glastonbury a few weeks back.

We indulged in beautiful deep candlelit yin yoga with live harp one evening. Spent the next day, which dawned chilly but beautifully bright, going up the Tor, connecting with the energy of Glastonbury and wandering around the wonderful shops. Our last morning we enjoyed another yoga class - this time elemental yoga - at Shekinah, a retreat location.

Isn't it hard to take time like this for yourself? Especially if, like both me and my husband, you're self employed.  But there is so much value in it.

But I have come back re-energised and full of inspiration for what 2019 holds and how I would like to grow my practise.

If you need to take time for yourself I can offer you a mini-retreat in my therapy room.  My delicious 90 minute Super Sessions are especially indulgent.  ;.  My Super Sessions are especially indulgent

My path to the work I do today started with my homeopathy degree.  During my degree I did 200 hours of student clinics, offering low cost homeopathy. This gave an insight into how what has happened to us in our lives impacts so strongly and unapologetically into our body. Manifesting as disease or pain.

I then went on to train in Reiki which was my grounding for the body work I do today. This also strengthened the supportive role that I have to play as a therapist, whether it is just making you feel comfortable in the room or taking things deeper and helping you to explore your emotions.

I now specialise in emotional support and I pride myself on providing a supportive, non-judgemental and confidential environment for you to explore what has happened in your life.

What has brought you to this point in your life? How is life impacting on your body, physically? And how can we break the cycle. And the reason I am so good at providing this supportive atmosphere is because I feel so deeply myself.

Following my trip to Glastonbury I have come home infused with exciting plans to take my practice into a slightly different direction.  But a direction that is very authentic to who I am.  This will take a while to manifest.... so keep watching this space ;)

In the meantime, I guarantee that, whatever you are looking for in your session - be it pummelling those achy muscles or working a bit deeper and helping you to break the cycle that is causing the pain - I will support you through the process and Listen to you with an open heart and mind. If this is the approach you are looking for just get in touch with me.
