2017-2018 MRBC Board Member Vacancy
It is with a mix of sadness and gratitude that we announce Shveta Gupta, McKamy Robotics Booster Club (MRBC) Vice President, has embarked on a new role and is not able to continue to fulfill the Vice President duties. Shveta has graciously agreed to continue as Vice President until a replacement can be identified.
According the MRBC ByLaws and LISD requirements, each of the four board positions must be filled for the booster club continue to be active at McKamy.
This position will be filled pursuant to MRBC Bylaws. Any member of MRBC is eligible to fill the VP position. This includes Parent Mentors, Primary and Secondary contacts.
Responsibilities of the Vice President include:
Aid to the President.
Preside in absence of the President.
Membership. Recording and tracking the club membership, participating in new member activities, collecting applications and payment from both new members and returning members. Typically this occurs during the fall new membership drive and the spring.
Parts (inventory, ordering). Managing the parts inventory using the MRBC inventory system, collecting parts orders, allocating and recording parts provided to each team, and ordering new parts when needed. This is largely a fall activity as the teams design and begin to build their robots. Typically October - early December, winding down as the competitions begin shortly after the new year.
Processes and tools are already in place to assist the with VP duties. MRBC has a parts inventory system to assist teams in ordering parts, tracking inventory and recording parts assigned to teams.
