New Leadership in CSA Working Groups The working groups are the heart of the Climate Science Alliance and the place where ideas and partnerships come to life. Our innovative projects and programs are driven by the individuals who particiapte and we have been fortunate to have amazing leaders take the helm of the three working groups over the last two years. As we move into 2017-18 we are pleased to announce new additions to the team. - Green Team: Alex Warneke, Cabrillo National Monument

Orange and Blue Working Group Updates The Orange & Blue Teams have been busy this Spring on a number of projects that showcase regional research and build capacity for climate resilience. Projects include: State of the Science project, Resilient Restoration project, Living Shorelines Project, Batiquitos Lagoon Resiliency project, Tribal Climate Summit, and CSA Climate Science Summit. Green 'FUN' Team updates includuing 1st CSA Area at Balboa Park EarthFair Spring has been a whirlwind of community art shows, earth day activities, and tribal events across southern CA. Our biggest event of Spring was hosting the first-ever Climate Science Area at the Balboa Park EarthFair. Art of Change Exhibit During March and April, CSA Affiliated Artists and Climate Kids artwork was on display at Pacific Beach Taylor Branch Library. The show will be featured at the Central Library in June 2017. | | |

Diane Terry Joins CSA Staff We would like to extend a warm welcome to Diane Terry who will be working as a project lead for the Climate Science Alliance’s Art and Community Initiative. Diane recently graduated from UC Santa Cruz and enjoys educating the public on environmental awareness in a way that bridges the gap between science and art. |

CSA Attends Four Tribal Earth Fairs This Spring, the Climate Science Alliance was invited to bring interactive Climate Kids activities to several Tribal Earth Fairs in Southern California. Special thanks to our partners at the Santa Rosa Band of Cahuilla Indians, La Jolla Band of Luiseño Indians, Campo Band of Mission Indians, Pala Band of Mission Indians, and Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians for including us in their community events. | | |

Climate Kids Field Trips to Cabrillo National Monument Our Climate Kids program is finishing up this year's round of field trips to Cabrillo. Over 450 students from 5 local schools had a blast visiting the tidepools, learning about Ocean Acidification, and creating nature journals from donated library books. | | |

Out of the Boat Swim Partners with Climate Kids- Mexico Out of the Boat Swim provides underprivileged children living in coastal communities with an educational summer camp about ocean safety and environmental stewardship. They have teamed up with Climate Kids-Mexico and are making a huge impact in Tijuana, Baja California. | | |
