AAAM Community Dinner
On 11/3, MAPLE attended the Annual Community Dinner hosted by  Asian-American Alliance of Marin. We had a great dialogue on Muslim American life and met Dr. Judy Sasaki, the nation’s first Asian-American woman to lead a four-year college or university. 

President Elect of Marin County Bar Association
MAPLE Member Dorothy Chou Proudfoot has been elected the 2017 President of the Marin County Bar Association. She is the first Asian American to head the Bar Association in its 80-year history, and is committed to increasing diversity. The Installation Gala for the new Officers and Directors will be held on February 11, 2017.  Dorothy has worked in the District Attorney's Office for fifteen years. The middle daughter of Chinese immigrants, she was raised in Orange County and earned both her undergraduate and law degrees from U.C. Berkeley.
 
 Please join us in congratulating Dorothy!

We'll be planning our holiday get-together and asking for volunteers to help plan the next Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebration to take place on 5/4/17.
