June 24th CCIDC Meeting
On June 24th, several of IDCC's Board of Directors and two of our lobbyist team members attended the Strategic Planning meeting promoted by CCIDC (California Council for Interior Design Certfication). There was good discussion regarding the state of the CID in California. There was also discussion regarding how to help commercial designers gain more recognition in areas of our state where there are problems having their stamped drawings accepted for review. Over the last several years our Coalition has put forth the idea of an additional certification which was discussed frankly with this group. This would be a separate certification geared towards the category of commercial interiors; specializing in corporate and/or government levels with
heavily code-impacted design.
As a result of this Strategic Planning Meeting, CCIDC has put forth a survey so that they can garner input on this potential category of certification. We are asking that all of our supporters take a moment to fill out their survey. The link to that survey is:
