May 22 - 26

Monday 

We started investigating the affect that sugar has on our health by discussing all that we currently know about sugar, as well as where this information comes from - later we will get a chance to consider how reliable these sources are! We also watched the trailer to That Sugar Film.

Three times the fun . . . 

Early Monday morning my goat herd grew by two more - fortunately these are the last babies of the "kidding season."  These two little buckling (baby boy goats) have not been named yet - suggestions anyone?

Tuesday

We started watching That Sugar Film, we also made predictions of how much sugar was added to popular breakfast, lunch and snack foods, and we did a short partner workout. 

Wednesday 

With the final due date of our Health and Happiness Videos fast approaching we took time for critique.

Thursday 

We watched more of the That Sugar Film - today's focus was on the specific role that insulin plays in regulating blood sugar levels, as well as a case study of the Amata community of South Australia.

 

Friday 

Today we returned to our predictions to analyze the actual amount of sugar in our food. The most surprising finding might be that the yogurt parfait from Starbucks has almost 11 teaspoons of sugar!
